"It’s like Erin Brockovich, but with Sony and legitimate OtherOS users, who, you know, bought the system for that feature. Now it’s removed. It’s either continued PlayStation Network access and you’re OtherOS-less, or you can forget PSN and say goodbye to trophies, the store, online gaming, but — you get to keep your linux install. Nice, real nice…

Anyway, by way of hackaday and IGN: A complete copy of the lawsuit in PDF format.

I wonder how this’ll pan out. And who’s jumping onboard?"

They should have never removed OtherOS. I agree with the lawsuit even though Sony will get away with it.

Yeah they probably added a clause beforehand to say features may be removed at any time for any reason or some crap.

i would have thought that they could have simply worked with industry to get over these types of issues.
The home end user i suppose i could see it, but some companies are doing big things with these consoles.

I heard a couple of years ago that the Army (maybe some other branch of service) was using them in large farms for their processing power.  Of course, they are old enough now that I guess a new PC outpowers it again.
