Durka dee durka, this shit might be bad peoples, like bad bad. Just watch the vid below and see for yourself how it ends. Forget the boat, we are fucked beyond a fucked that has never been seen before. I speak of the end of the age of men. It's been nice knowing you, and when again we meet in the hell that we create I shall offer drink and all manner of earthly pleasures to those who were my friends. We is some people gonna die, so sayeth oobymach, deathbringer.

Well, from what I know about black holes, it's that they never stop consuming matter and all nearby matter is consumed and released via jets at the poles as high intensity energy (gamma, xray) and as the hole consumes matter it grows. All nearby matter (earth, the moon) could potentially be consumed by the hole (or thousands of holes) created at CERN. Apocalypse, 2012, Alice in Wonderland, we may have unleashed a genie in a bottle and the genie doesn't go back into the bottle. We is bring upon ourselves the worst case scenario, a black hole that consumes us from within.

banging two rocks together has more energy than the proton beams. then we should be dead ages ago. heck, if I could destroy the world with a couple of stones I would BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!!!!!

and btw, [IF] nano black holes would be made they will evaporate even faster than they appeared.

a black hole (real one) is dangerous because the gravity field of the previous star has collapsed. A nano hole wouldn't even register on the weight/gravity scale because it is so utterly small and it will exist shorter than Superman can get a boner.

this makes sense! I've always heard black holes = collapsed stars

The ALICE in wonderland story, Alice goes down the rabbit hole, CERN is project A.L.I.C.E. (A Large Ion Collider Experiment), and ALICE going down the rabbit hole could refer to the black hole sinking to the center of the earth. They collided 1024 packets of high energy particles in 2008 and if even one made a tiny black hole it could consume the planet from the inside. Hawking radiation is an UNTESTED theory (the one stating that a black hole will evaporate) and goes against everything that Einstein theorized. Once a black hole is created, it will consume all nearby matter (earth) and like Pandoras box there is no stopping the black hole. The Nostradamus prediction that RAYPOZ will destroy everything, the genie in the bottle, alice in wonderland, Pndoras box, the bible, all predict this event, that man seeking truth (the truth behind the big bang) will be consumed by it. Wheee, I like science.

Also, there is no escape plan for this worst case scenario. There will be no warning from those in power, these final days mark the last of humanity and earth in our solar system. If there were some way to stop a black hole (mass injection of anti-matter?) it would be moot since the black hole sank to the center of the earth which we could never reach with our current level of technology. How long does a microscopic black hole take to grow to a macroscopic and then planet eating black hole? About 4 years? 2012, pandoras box has been opened, and our journey into the rabbit hole awaits. Yay science. I'm gonna kick Stephen Hawkings ass for the rest of eternity, Hawking radiation my ass. You think a quadriplegic maybe has a grudge against humanity? That his 'theory' of Hawking radiation is just that, unproven theory and could carry with it the direct result of the extinction of our entire race? We already opened pandoras box, now we wait for the results to swallow our world from the inside.

Actually, the video describes the energy/mass of the particles in stage 3 as being equivalent to that of a freight train moving at speed and stage 4 got the particles up to 14TeV (TeV = terra electron volts) which in my understanding is a helluva lot more energy than banging a couple rocks together.

And the difference between a stellar black hole (one left over after the collapse of a star) and the CERN black hole is the initial mass. The stellar black hole has the initial mass of the star it was born from and the CERN black hole has the initial mass of a couple of hydrogen particles. The CERN black hole will grow over time as it consumes the matter at the planets core and eventually the planet itself. All that will remain of humanity are our satellites and rovers sent to explore the galaxy.

I think this proves the whole thing false. Also, I'm going out on a limb here, but I think those guys know more about what they're doing than you or nostradamus.

exactly RMT. All this talk about the world ending in 2012, just makes me think that you *want* it to end then, and then I have to ask, why don't you value your own life? It may be worth doing some serious meditation about what parts of your life you're discontent over and how you could change and improve those things. I'm not sure how mental health care is up north, but it wouldn't hurt to try that as well.

It's not healthy to get caught up in these things. I hear all the theories all the time. Everywhere you turn, somebody is talking about the end of the world and how it's coming soon. I don't pay attention to any of it because there's no point. If the end of the world is so certain, what the hell do you want me to do? Kill myself and get it over with? It's clear that society as a whole is pretty paranoid these days, so some people just can't get off of this stuff. RMT makes a great comparison, it feels just like Y2K, which made a lot of people look really stupid when they panicked over nothing. The only difference is this is a much worse theory.

And please, somebody explain to me why the History channel broadcasts this shit all the time? It's not really history, and I think we all get what they're trying to say now that they've produced about 50 shows on it. I'm tired of it.

Y2K anyone?

This is just as probably as Y2K.  Complete garbage.  In all of the searching I've done, I haven't found a grain of evidence supporting this "apocalypse."

Oh wait!  This just in!  NASA says that there will be a massive solar storm in 2012!  There will be solar flares more powerful than ever before!  At least, the most powerful in 50 years.  That's right, this hasn't happened in a whole 50 years, so we're all screwed.  Also, we don't even know if this will happen in 2012.  Might be 2011 or 2013.  There is absolutely NO REASON to be panicked.  NOTHING is going to happen.  I don't know who invented this fictional apocalypse, but they didn't do their research.  What happens when your calendar ends?  You GET A NEW CALENDAR.
